PSG gave arguably their best performance of the season as they overcame Montpellier 4-0 at Parc des Princes in Ligue 1.

It always looked likely to be a routine victory when the visitors were reduced to 10 men as goalkeeper Jonas Omlin saw red in the first half, and PSG flexed their offensive muscles to a full extent thereafter.

Mbappe particularly starred only days after coming under fire for poor performances.

📷 Kylian Mbappe: Match Snapshot

⏱️ 34’ Mbappe really gets the ball rolling for PSG, who have played some fluent stuff but have been unable to find a finishing touch. Neymar makes the initial incision with a pass to Angel Di Maria, who in turn plays through Mbappe to lift the ball over Dimitri Bertaud and into the goal.

A ⏱️ 60’ Mbappe gets to the byline on the right of the park and has the composure to look up and find Neymar unchecked just outside the six-yard box. Of course, the Brazilian does not miss.

⏱️ 63’ Incredibly, in the three minutes after setting up Neymar, Mauro Icardi has added a third. Mbappe completes the rout with an easy finish. Again Neymar is at the start of the move, playing a through ball to Icardi. Instead of shooting with just the goalkeeper to beat, he lays it to Mbappe for an easy finish.

〽️ Mbappe: Rating Week-on-Week

✔️ IMPROVEMENT

Mbappe's form has been disappointing in recent times, with a 5/7 FC Rating in the Trophee des Champions win over Marseille nine days ago. He was not much better in Angers.

In this encounter, however, he scored a brilliant 9.8 FC Rating.

Mbappe: What Next?

It is up to Mbappe to maintain this level. A trip to struggling Lorient comes next week then a midweek home game against Nimes, who are also fighting relegation.

Mbappe should be licking his lips and seeking a heap of goals in these games.
