Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his side must improve their away form if they are to repeat their Premier League title of last term.
The Reds travel to Crystal Palace for Saturday’s early kick-off following a dramatic 2-1 win over leaders Tottenham in midweek that carried them to the top of the league.
Liverpool, though, have won just once on the road this season, picking up four draws and a defeat along the way.
While Klopp believes his side have been the victims of ill-fortune, he admits it is a record that cannot continue.
“It’s been a little bit about opponents away from home, and we were slightly unlucky in one or two games,” he told the media.
“But outside that is the truth. We haven’t won away a lot. We are try to change these things and put a shift in.
“Playing the best possible football is always the plan home and away and tomorrow we try again.”
Meanwhile, he does not expect an easy trip to Selhurst Park.
“They have a confident situation and I am impressed by their performance level,” he said of Roy Hodgson’s side, who are 12th in the league.
“They look good, they look sharp. It will be a tough one.”
Klopp gave an update on the status of his squad and most notably on Thiago, who he is keen not to rush back.
“He is eager to get his Liverpool career up and running,” he added.
“We are already making jokes here that we should sign Thiago in January!
“We will not rush him but it's nice to have him on the pitch. He's not in team training yet, that's the final step.
“Will he be back in team training next week? He has to have a few tests before he can be back on the pitch. James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri are the same.”
After the Palace match at the weekend, Liverpool will have eight days off before hosting West Brom.
