One of the biggest matches of the weekend in the English Championship sees Ipswich play host to Middlesbrough at Portman Road.

Ipswich are embroiled in one of the most exciting title races in recent memory in the Championship, while Boro still hold hope of making the playoffs despite currently being positioned ninth in the table.

Current Form

Ipswich Current Form

Ipswich's title assault has taken a hit recently as they have went two games without a winning, losing to rivals Norwich 1-0 and then drawing 0-0 versus Watford.

Prior to the loss against Norwich, they won nine out of 10 games and that form put them in the title conversation.

At the moment, they are level on points with Leicester at the top of the table, with Leeds just in behind.

Middlesbrough Current Form

Middlesbrough are unbeaten in eight games in the Championship and won five in that run.

At the beginning of April, they defeated both Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea 2-0 at home and followed that with a 2-2 draw against Hull during the week.

Ipswich Team News

..

Janoi Donacien is a long-term absentee for Ipswich, but Kieran McKenna confirmed this week that both George Hirst and Wes Burns have returned to training after recent injury issues.

However, they still won't be available for the next couple of games.

Middlesbrough Team News

Tommy Smith, Marcus Forss and Riley McGree are all out for the rest of the season for Middlesbrough, but Carrick is hopeful that Hayden Hackney and Alex Bangura can soon get back to full fitness, with the latter featuring on the bench versus Hull.

Paddy McNair, Dael Fry and Josh Coburn should play a part before in the run-in, but Ipswich will likely come too early for them.

Scoreline Prediction

Ipswich have a title to fight for but Boro's unbeaten run will see them head into this one with confidence to get at least a point.

Ipswich 2-2 Middlesbrough
