Ibrahimovic back involved? How Milan could line-up against Genoa

The big Swede has missed the last handful of games due to injury, but the Rossoneri will monitor his progress until kick off

Stefano Pioli could potentially have the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to call upon for this week's Serie A match against Genoa.

Ibrahimovic has missed the last few games, but returned to full training with his team-mates this week and is close to returning to fitness. As of Tuesday, Milan haven't decided if he is fit enough to feature versus Genoa.

Depending on his development, Pioli may name him on the bench, but a start is unlikely as Milan won't want to rush their star striker back for a match that they are expected to win comfortably anyway.

Therefore, expect Ante Rebic to continue in the centre-forward position.

Two-goal hero from the weekend Theo Hernandez could start in the same back four from the weekend alongside Davide Calabria, Alessio Romagnoli, and Matteo Gabbia.

Simon Kjaer is close to returning from injury, but he'll probably be back for Sassuolo, not Genoa.

Pioli could opt to rotate things a little in midfield by bringing in Italian wonderkid Sandro Tonali into midfield alongside Franck Kessie, with Ismael Bennacer the player to make way, with him picking up a slight thigh strain against Parma.

The Italian boss wasn't too enamoured with his attacking midfield in the draw against Parma as at half-time he took off both Samu Castillejo and Brahim Diaz.

Their replacements, Jens Petter Hauge and Rafael Leao, could start instead.
