Ajax legend Sjaak Swart has claimed that Ronald Koeman is keen to make Mo Salah one of his first signings at Barcelona, and that the player is open to the move.

Swart, who holds the record for most appearances ever for Ajax, made the comments in an interview with DAZN, where he commented on Koeman's appointment at Camp Nou.

Koeman is thought to be looking to strengthen in certain positions and has already been heavily linked with Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, though that particular deal looks to have cooled.

Without revealing his source, he said: "I know that Koeman wants him, and I know that Salah would like to go."

Salah was in sensational form on the opening day of the season, scoring a hat-trick in a thrilling 4-3 win over Leeds at Anfield, a performance that landed him a perfect 10 FC Rating.
