Dortmund go into this week's Champions League clash against Club Brugge with only one fit central defender, which will force Lucien Favre to further tinker with his line-up.

Mats Hummels was the two-goal hero for BVB in the weekend win over Arminia, but had to be withdrawn due to a thigh injury a few minutes from time.

With Emre Can, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marcel Schmelzer and Nico Schulz all out injured, too, that leaves Favre without many options at the back.

Manuel Akanji is the only fit central defender, which means 35-year-old Lukasx Piszczek could be asked to play in a back four, with Thomas Meunier and Raphael Guerreiro in the full-back roles.

Jude Bellingham will likely start after playing well against Arminia, with either Thomas Delaney or Axel Witsel partnering the young Englishman in central midfield.

It was a rare game missed for Erling Haaland at the weekend but he is available for Champions League duty, which might mean a place on the bench for Thorgan Hazard.

If Marco Reus moves out to the left, Haaland can take his place up top.
