Despite implementing a number of expected changes during the week, Arsenal impressively defeated Liverpool on penalties to progress to the next round of the League Cup.

Star player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was rested for cup duty, while Alexandre Lacazette only featured for a few minutes, meaning they should be fighting fit to return to the starting XI versus Sheffield Utd.

Manager Mikel Arteta is starting to have options in certain areas which he didn't have previously.

David Luiz played in the league last weekend, but new signing Gabriel featured in the Cup, so the Spaniard will have to choose between these two to partner Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding in the back three.

Pablo Mari and Emile Smith Rowe should return to full training by the end of the international break, but Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Gabriel Martinelli remain on the long-term injury list.

Against Liverpool in the League Cup, Arteta changed to a 4-2-3-1 formation, but expect him to revert to his usual 3-4-3 now the Gunners are back to league duty.
