Herrera: PSG feel like sh*t after Champions League loss

The former Man Utd midfielder didn't mince his words after the devastating loss in the final in Lisbon

Ander Herrera admits the entire Paris Saint-Germain squad feels like "sh*t" after losing their first ever Champions League final at the hands of Bayern Munich.

In a tight affair at the Estadio da Luz, it took just one goal to separate the teams as Kingsley Coman headed in from a Joshua Kimmich cross just before the hour mark.

Although Bayern dominated with nearly 2/3 possession, PSG still had their chances, with Kylian Mbappe missing a superb chance from 12 yards out a few minutes before the break.

Herrera, who started the game, used expletives to sum up the feeling in the changing room of the Ligue 1 champions, and lamented the opportunities spurned.

‘"We feel like s**t here," the former Man Utd and Athletic Bilbao midfielder said after the loss.

"But we have built something important for the club and the supporters. Tomorrow, we will think about all that.

‘Today it is difficult to speak. We will try to come back to this stage. We’re not going to throw everything away.

"The conclusion that I have right now is that if you miss clear chances and you play against another top side, they will probably kill you. As they did.

"I think we did everything to win the game, we created two or three big chances in the first half and we didn’t score."

He added that Bayern's winning know-how played a big part in the match, but that PSG were also responsible for their own shortcomings, too.

"They knew how to win, and we also knew how to lose the game. When you lose, you are f****d for a couple of days, but when you lose the way we lost, you can take a lot of things to make you stronger."

Thomas Tuchel's men begin the defence of their Ligue 1 title this weekend when they travel to face Lens.
