Milan moved to within four points of fifth place in Serie A after comfortably defeating Parma 3-1 on Wednesday, with Hakan Calhanoglu involved in all three goals.

After initially going behind shortly before the break, the Rossoneri rallied in the second half to turn the scoreline around and claim all three points.

In was a relatively quiet first half until Parma opened the scoring through Jasmin Kurtic in the 44th minute, although Milan could have no real complaints as they didn't create enough in the opening 45, with Alessio Romagnoli the closest to scoring with a bouncing header off the top of the crossbar.

After the break, however, the home side burst into life.

A ⏱️ 55' Calhanoglu may have gained the assist for this one with a pass inside from the left wing, but this goal is all about Franck Kessie, who collects possession from his team-mate, drives forward, and unleashes a thunderbolt of a strke in off the post from 30 yards. An absolute screamer.

A ⏱️ 59' Four minutes later the Turk was involved again, recording his second assist of the game with a whipped free-kick into the centre of the box which was headed into the bottom corner by Romagnoli.

Thereafter, the game opened up with both sides enjoying more chances. Parma even came extremely close to equalising after Dejan Kulusevski's deflected strike hit the bar, while Gervinho messed up the rebound.

⚽ ⏱️ 77' Milan eventually took the game beyond the visitors 13 minutes from time, though, as Giacomo Bonaventura holds off numerous challenges down the left channel before teeing up Calhanoglu for a drilled strike into the bottom left corner from a yard outside the box.

In terms of passing, he completed 50/57 balls to team-mates, but just over half were sent into dangerous areas in the final third.

He put six crosses into the box, including for the second goal, but also worked his socks off, making eight ball recoveries.

For his performance, he earned a 9.5 FC Rating.
