Barcelona central defender Gerard Pique has been pictured in team training ahead of the club’s Champions League clash with PSG.

The Spanish defender has missed much of the 2020/21 season due to a knee injury he picked up in late November.

As such, Barcelona have struggled to accommodate their senior defender as head coach Ronald Koeman has turned to defenders Clement Lenglet, Ronald Araujo, Samuel Umtiti and Oscar Mingueza with varying degrees of success.

Ahead of the crucial Champions League tie, Spanish newspaper Sport reported that Koeman would wait until the last minute to make a decision on Pique’s fitness and match sharpness.

However, it now seems as though the towering defender took part in team training ahead of the clash and could be back on the pitch sooner than initially assumed.
