Georgino Wijnaldum has done it again for the Netherlands. The midfielder scored twice in the first half of Holland’s UEFA Nations League game against Bosnia and Herzegovina to add to a very impressive recent tally for his country.

Since the start of 2019, Wijnaldum has scored 10 goals in 12 official matches for the Netherlands between the Nations League and Euro 2020 qualification.

He has also contributed to seven of Holland’s last 13 goals.

Wijnaldum’s goals on Sunday were particularly important given Holland had gone five games without a win and had failed to earn a victory since Frank de Boer replaced Ronald Koeman as coach. The match versus Bosnia and Herzegovina eventually ended 3-1 with Wijnaldum being named man-of-the-match by Football Critic.

Although Wijnaldum often plays in a slightly more offensive role for Netherlands than he does for Liverpool, this scoring record will still surprise many Liverpool fans.

The midfielder has failed to score this season for Liverpool in 13 games.

He has also found the net only eight times in the Premier League in the last four seasons for the Reds.

However, earlier in his career, Wijnaldum did show that he does have the ability to find the back of the net.

Three times he broke into double figures during his spell at PSV Eindhoven, while he also scored 11 goals in his one season for Newcastle United. However, once again, he played more offensively for these clubs.

Netherlands will be hoping he doesn’t stop scoring for them as they look to bounce back from a slow start to De Boer’s reign.
