Former Horta player Sergi Moreno slams ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes for a lack of humility after telling him and several other players that they were no longer needed at the Spanish fourth division club.
Former Barca stopper Valdes is in charge of Horta, having retired from the game as a player in 2017.
Moreno, a striker who has played mostly in the lower echelons of the Spanish game, gave an interview with Marca in which he highlights how Valdes treated some of the players at the club.
"We were in the gym and, at the end of the season, Victor came in and told us that we weren't in his plans anymore, that we weren't what he was looking for footballing-wise," Moreno told BTV.
"[He told us] to pick up our things and leave, that we weren't to train because he wanted to sign other players," he continued.
"[Valdes has a] lack of humility and [he's] egocentric. He thinks he's playing FIFA, as if we, the players, were playing cards.
"We're people before anything else and, with Victor Valdes, I felt treated like a piece of s***. I make a living of this and now how am I going to pay everything I have to pay?"
Valdes played over 500 games for Barcelona during his career, and has been in charge of Horta since May of this year.
