FARCICAL Fuenlabrada

VAR has given us plenty of drama since it was introduced, but perhaps nothing as funny as this in the Spanish Segunda:

Cristobal is sent off for Fuenlabrada after a high challenge on a Girona opponent and subsequently trudges to the home dressing room. The referee then consults VAR and decides to rescind the red card after deeming that the tackle wasn't as bad as previously thought.

Great news then for the hosts, as Cristobal comes back to to the pitch to receive a yellow instead of the red.

To celebrate his return to proceedings, he gets involved in an altercation with Alex Granell of Girona. The two are booked, with Cristobal receiving his second, meaning he was sent off twice in the one game.

MOMENT FOR MORENO

20-year-old Anibal Moreno scored his first goal for Newell's Old Boys this week as they defeated San Lorenzo 1-0, and what better way to get off the mark in your senior career than with an absolute screamer of a strike into the top corner?

After the home side play around the opposition box for a minute or so, the ball comes to Moreno, who takes one touch to set himself before arrowing an unstoppable left-footed firebolt into the top left corner.

Queue a well deserved 'GOOOOOOOOOLLLL' from the Argentine commentators.

UNSAIN IN THE MEMBRANE

Unfortunately for goalkeepers, they are scrutinised more than most outfield players as, when they make a mistake, it tends to be costly.

However, the blame for this brilliant own goal lies straight with Defensa stopper Ezequiel Unsain, who receives a back pass from his defender and then, upon realising an attacker is near, panics and ends up touching the ball over his line.

Botafogo HONDA REVEAL

Keisuke Honda recently joined Brazilian side Botafogo to much fanfare, with the club deciding to announce his acquisition with a cute little video made for social media.

The Gameboy inspired clip shows Honda as a Pokemon character embarking on his new adventure or, 'New Game' by joining Botafogo.

Because Japanese = video games, right? Right...?
