5. DEPAY LEAVES IT LATE
Lyon secured a dramatic late win against Toulouse at the weekend largely due to the performance of Memphis Depay, who scored two, including the winner in injury time, and what a winner it was. After collecting the ball deep he embarked on an incisive dribble, taking on one, two, three tackles before lashing a left-footed strike across goal into the bottom corner for the 3-2 away victory.

4. ZANIOLO POWER TOO MUCH FOR MERET
Nicolo Zaniolo continued his scoring streak on Sunday as Roma secured a vital 2-1 home win versus Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico. It was the young Italian who opened the scoring after receiving a pass to the edge of the box before feigning a shot, leaving the defender off balance. With things becoming more crowded, he unleashed a left-footed strike high into the top right corner, flashing past goalkeeper Alex Meret.

3. SUPER MARIO SILENCES THE BOO BOYS
The Serie A clash between Verona and Brescia will be remembered for yet more allegations of racism against Italian football fans. Mario Balotelli was the victim on this occasion, with the former Manchester City striker threatening to leave the pitch before being convinced to stay. Brescia lost, but he will have enjoyed his beautiful, curled strike into the top right corner from range to show the perpetrators in the stands just what he can do.

2. VARDY AND GRAY'S TELEPATHY
Jamie Vardy leads the goalscoring charts in the Premier League with 10 so far this season, and this was one of his best yet, as he netted the second in a 2-0 win for Leicester away at Crystal Palace. Youri Tielemans slid a pass into the centre for Demarai Gray, who stepped over the ball to allow Vardy to play him down the channel. Then comes the one-two back inside, with the in-form England striker given time to guide a left-footed finish into the corner.

1. MCMANAMAN CHANNELS JOHAN CRUYFF
The Championship threw up the best goal of this week, scored by Callum McManaman in a 2-1 defeat for Luton at home to Nottingham Forest. After picking up possession just inside the box, McManaman goes for the left-footed strike, only to send the defender the wrong way with a Cruyff turn before utilising the space to curl his effort superbly into the top corner. Top goal.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Christopher Nkunku scored the best goal of the game in RB Leipzig's 8-0 thrashing of Mainz, collecting a pass from Timo Werner before whipping a strike high into the left corner.

There are few better sights than a sweetly-caught half-volley and this is Chimy Avila for Osasuna against Alaves.
