This is the European Assist Kings list for 2019/20. For European Assist Kings 2020/21, follow this link.

The European Assist Kings is unfortunately an award that doesn't exist, so here at FootballCritic we have decided to pull it together.

Similarly to the European Golden Shoe, we have assigned a weighting system to each competition, so elite leagues - the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 - have a weighting of 2, meaning that a player will be awarded two points for every assist they provide.

For the leagues ranked sixth to 30 in Uefa's coefficients rankings goals assisted are given a weighting of 1.5, and goals assisted in a league outwith the top 30, goals are given a rating of 1.

The top assist-maker outwith the elite leagues is James Forrest of Celtic, who has 15 in the Scottish Premiership.

The most successful league on the list is the German Bundesliga which features no less than five top assist-makers. Joining Sancho and Muller are Thorgan Hazard and Achraf Hakimi of Dortmund, plus Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig.

The Premier League is represented by De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

La Liga and Ligue 1 have a sole representative each in the form of two Argentines, Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Angel Di Maria of PSG. Serie A are represented by Luis Alberto of Lazio and Alejandro Gomez of Atalanta.
