As we entered the business end of the Europa League group stages, clubs were going all out to ensure qualification for the Last 32 and as such we saw some fantastic performances across the continent.
The best performance over the course of the matchday came from Molde attacking midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem (9.5), who helped his side earn a comfortable 3-1 win over Dundalk with a goal and an assist on the night.
Up front, we kicked things off with FC Antwerp’s Koji Miyoshi (9), who put on a strong performance on the right wing in his side’s 3-1 victory over Ludogorets along with an assist for one of the three goals.
Miyoshi is joined by Milan forward Jens Hauge (8.6), who helped his side overcome two goals from Celtic to win the match 4-2. The young, Norwegian forward was on hand to score the third and assist the fourth on the night.
In midfield Benfica’s central midfielder Pizzi (8.9) earned all the plaudits in his side’s 4-0 victory over Lech Poznan with two assists and a goal on the night. Remarkably, Braga’s own Gelano (9.2) joins Pizzi in midfield for bagging the exact same return in his side’s 4-2 victory over AEK Athens. Defensive midfielder Igor Zubeldia (9.2) joins them to round up the midfield trio after a fantastic defensive performance in his side’s 2-2 draw with Rijeka.
The defence has a certain Norwegian feel to it this week, with no less than three players from Molde making up the back line. Full-backs Henry Wingo (8.5) and Birk Risa (8.6) join Martin Ellingsen (8.8) in representing their side after their 3-1 win over Dundalk. Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen (8.2) takes the final spot in defence after his goal against Lech Poznan.
In goals, we turn to Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina (8.4), who made no less than five fantastic saves to ensure his side of a point in their 1-1 draw with AZ.
