The Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid takes place this Saturday in Wembley Stadium.

Dortmund are looking to win the competition for the second time, while Los Blancos are looking to add to their incredible tally by claiming the trophy for the 15th time in their illustrious history.

Following the group stage, Dortmund made it to the final by defeating PSV, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain over two legs in the round of 16, quarter-final and semi-final stage respectively.

Madrid beat RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Dortmund current form

Dortmund's best moments have come in the Champions League as they have had a fairly poor domestic season. They finished fifth in the Bundesliga, but luckily for them, the German top-flight, along with the Italian Serie A, earned an additional spot in the Champions League prior to the 2023/24 campaign.

Since the 1-0 away victory in the semi-final second leg, BVB went on to be defeated 3-0 by Mainz before beating Darmstadt 4-0.

Those two games present a lovely microcosm of their season as a whole.

Real Madrid current form

Conversely, Real Madrid have flew to another championship victory in the Primera Division, and in emphatic fashion, too, as they finished 10 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Barcelona.

While Dortmund have only played twice since the semi, Madrid have played four times, drawing with Villarreal and Real Betis and beating Granada and Alaves.

Los Blancos have had La Liga sewn up since the start of May, though, so Carlo Ancelotti has rotated his squad.

Madrid have suffered defeat just two times in all competitions this season and both came against city rivals Atletico Madrid, once in the league and once in the Copa del Rey.

Dortmund vs Real Madrid Team News

Ramy Bensebaini, Julien Duranville and Mateu Morey are unlikely to be passed bit for Dortmund, though none of them would have played a major part in the game anyway.

There are still concerns over Sebastien Haller as he has yet to regain full fitness since an ankle problem, but Niclas Fullkrug would have led the line regardless.

There are only two definite absentees for Real Madrid - David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Alaba has missed most of the season due to a cruciate ligament problem and also won't be a part of the European Championships with Austria. There were hopes that Tchouameni could make it, but he hasn't been passed fit.

Key player - Dortmund

35-year-old Mats Hummels has been back to his best in the Champions League for Dortmund this season, and was particularly impressive in the two semi-final victories over PSG.

Scoreline Prediction

Dortmund have displayed incredible resilience to reach this point and impressively shut out a talented PSG forward line in the semi-final legs, but Real Madrid have too much quality in the final third and somehow always find a way to win these games.

Dortmund 1-3 Real Madrid
