Dele Alli has been left out of Tottenham's Europa League squad to face Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday, increasing speculation that he could be leaving the club.

One club who he won't be going to, however, is Real Madrid, as AS reports that Los Blancos turned down the opportunity to sign him as part of the deal which is seeing Gareth Bale return to Spurs.

Despite being recognised as one of the most promising young players in world football a few years ago, Dele has seen his form take a slight downturn over the past couple of seasons.

In the 2019/20 campaign, he contributed to 12 goals via eight scored himself complimented by four assists.

That was an improvement on the previous year, but in stark contrast to 16/17 and 17/18 when he contributed to 25 and 19 goals respectively.

His performances have been put under the spotlight even more over the past month due to Tottenham's 'All or Nothing' Amazon documentary series.

In the show, new head coach Jose Mourinho is seen calling Dele a "f*cking lazy guy in training."

In Tottenham's first game of the season against Everton, which they lost 1-0, Dele was taken off at half-time by Mourinho.

Now, the Portuguese boss has left him at home for Spurs' Europa League qualifier versus Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Negotiations are ongoing between Tottenham and Real Madrid with regards to a loan deal for Bale, but Dele won't be involved in any transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Should he leave London, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter are reportedly interested in his signature.
