Match Preview

Crystal Palace recent form

The Eagles went unbeaten in pre-season, defeating Crawley, Wolves and West Ham and drawing with Nantes and Charlton.

Today's game is a repeat of that friendly encounter.

They probably deserved to lose against Brentford last week as they earned a 5.4 FC Rating up against Brenford's 7.0.

Crystal Palace injury news

Matheus Franca is the only injury concern for Palace. However, they will be without influential central defender Joachim Andersen, who is on the cusp of a surprise £30 million switch to London rivals Fulham.

West Ham recent form

Last week's game versus Aston Villa was an entertaining one which ended 2-1 to Unai Emery's side. Funnily enough, it was a player the Hammers were strongly linked with in the transfer market, Jhon Duran, who scored the winner.

West Ham injury news

Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could all be handed first starts.

Edson Alvarez looks to have recovered from a thigh injury and he is in line to feature.

Crystal Palace - Player to Watch?

With Michael Olise now away, the attack pressure is on Eberechi Eze to deliver, and he was one of Palace's brighter performers versus Brentford last weel.

West Ham - Player to Watch?

There may be an influx of new talent at West Ham, but their most influential player arguably remains Jarrod Bowen, who has been made club captain. He scored an impressive 16 goals in the Premier League last season.

Crystal Palace vs West Ham - Prediction

Just a few weeks ago, Palace defeated West Ham 3-1 in a pre-season friendly so that will certainly give them confidence going into this one. But, the Hammers have a very, very strong squad now so will fancy themselves to get at least a draw.

Crystal Palace 2-2 West Ham
