Cristiano Ronaldo started the Serie A season on fire as his assist and goal helped Andrea Pirlo to an excellent start as Juventus coach against Sampdoria.

📷 Ronaldo: Match Snapshot

ASSIST ⏱️ 13' Ronaldo may actually be fortunate to retain the first assist he was given, but it was his burst into the area which committed Sampdoria defenders, allowing the ball to break to Dejan Kulusevski to slot into the corner.

We'll see if he keeps the award - it's probably unlikely, but he's the one that made the goal.

⏱️ 45' And it was Ronaldo who finished off the win in the closing stages, running onto an Aaron Ramsey pass to let the ball run across his body and lash into the far corner, for a vintage Ronaldo finish.

This was a typical CR7 display. He struck a huge 10 shots at goal, three of which landed on target, while he made a massive 14 touches inside the opposition penalty, easily the most of the contest.

Ronaldo: What Next?

We are always expecting Ronaldo to commence the slow-down process, but it still seems some way off yet. His finish in the second half against a tired Samp defence was as good as you'll see, finding the corner brilliantly.

He seems to have returned with some renewed vigour and Serie A teams will need to watch out for the season ahead.
