Roma promised to provide a tougher test a week later, and that proved to be the case as they earned a 2-2 draw against the champions.
Juve looked poor, and had to rely on two equalisers from Cristiano Ronaldo just to gain a point.

Juventus' overall lack of cohesion on the night meant that Ronaldo wasn't as involved as he'd like to be in a build-up play sense.
He was there solely as a finisher, and it was needed.
Twice CR7 bailed Juventus out, and ultimately earned the champions an undeserved point.
After Jordan Veretout gave Roma the lead, Ronaldo won and then scored a penalty to make it 1-1.

For the majority of the rest of the game Roma sat deep and attempted to catch Pirlo's side on the counter.
However, Ronaldo would again prove to be Juve's hero, and in brilliant fashion.

Ronaldo's eyes lit up as he leapt remarkably high into the air, above everyone, to nod into the net to make it 2-2. A ridiculous feat of athleticism, but one we are used to.

The Portuguese enjoyed 43 touches of the ball on the night, and completed 21/26 passes to team-mates.

Ronaldo was indeed Juve's hero against Roma, but his full performance was more effective against Samp.

Juventus are in for a major test next weekend as they take on Napoli, who demolished Genoa 6-0 on Sunday. Ronaldo will, again, be relied upon for the goals.
