There is a big three points on the line when Burnley host Wolves on Tuesday, particularly for the home side.

Burnley seem doomed to relegation and are currently 19th in the Premier League, having accumulated just 18 points from 30 matches. If they are going to pull off a miracle escape, they need to start collecting victories now.

As for Wolves, their impressive 2023/24 campaign so far sees them nicely placed in 10th, with aspirations of European football still in place.

Current Form

Burnley's current form

Burnley showed excellent spirit to earn a 2-2 draw with Chelsea over the weekend despite controversially going down to 10 men.

Vincent Kompany was sent to the stand for complaining about the second yellow card that was given to Lorenz Assignon during the game after he was punished for a soft foul on Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Clarets haven't lost in three games, so there is cause for optimism here.

Wolves' current form

Wolves have lost two matches in a row for the first time since the beginning of December, having recently suffered defeat versus Coventry in the FA Cup and then rivals Aston Villa 2-0 in the Premier League.

Gary O'Neill will be hoping his team can overcome this blip in order to avoid outdoing all their good work this campaign.

Team News

Ameen Al-Dakhil, Jordan Beyer, Luca Koleosho, Aaron Ramsey and Nathan Redmond are all sidelines for Burnley, but they will welcome David Fofana back to the squad after he was ineligible to face parent club Chelsea.

Assignon is suspended after the dismissal at Stamford Bridge.

Wolves have received a big boost after Matheus Cunha recovered from a hamstring issue ahead of schedule, but star wingers Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan are still absent.

Scoreline Prediction

Burnley arguably have a lot more to play for than Wolves here and with the latter still missing so many key players, Kompany's men should be identifying this game as an opportunity to claim all three points.

The Clarets are unbeaten in six home league games against Wolves since a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League in March 2010.

Burnley 2-1 Wolves
