following:
- Quality of opponent – It is more valuable to score against a good team - another team with a high FC score - than a lower one.
- Match significance – A knockout game in the Champions League is more
important than a league game.
- Goals, assists, and statistical production are key contributors as well as other key stats such as xG.
Why These Numbers Matter
Form Index ratings not only reflect winning runs, but they also indicate quality.
The 97 points that Barcelona scored also indicate their possession play and capability to break down low blocks on way to winning La Liga.
The same score of PSG is the result of a balance between explosive attack that won the Champions League courtesy of their front three. The 96 of Bayern Munich shows long-term performance and a return to the top of the Bundesliga after falling to Leverkusen last season.
