Barcelona have been further plunged into injury crisis after central defender Clemenet Lenglet had to be carried from the pitch in the win over Osasuna.

Lenglet went down clutching his ankle and was given lengthy treatment before being aided off the pitch by Barcelona's physios.

The defender looked in clear distress and it means coach Ronald Koeman is entering into a real period of crisis in his back line.

Earlier this month Gerard Pique was effectively ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in the defeat at Atletico Madrid. In the same match, Sergi Roberto suffered a thigh injury and he won't be back until February.

Samuel Umtiti is a long-term absentee, while Ronald Araujo has recently had covid and while he is due to return soon, he has barely featured under Koeman.

Barcelona finished the match with Osasuna with 21-year-old B team graduate Oscar Mingueza as the only recognised central defender, a player who only made his senior debut last week against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League.

If Lenglet's injury proves serious it may force Barcelona into the transfer market in January, with Eric Garcia remaining a long-term target.
