Barcelona have denied reports that talks have taken place with Manchester United over the possible transfer of Ousmane Dembele.

Since the turn of the year, Man Utd's primary transfer target has been Jadon Sancho of Dortmund, but up until now they have been unable to compromise on a price for the England international with the German side.

With Dortmund remaining firm on their valuation of Sancho, United turned their attention to alternative targets, with Dembele reportedly one of the names on that list.

Ronald Koeman's Barcelona are... pretty good?!

Rumours of a big-money move or even a loan with the option to buy have intensified over the past couple of weeks.

However, Barca say there have been no negotiations.

“First of all, no negotiations with Man United at the moment, completely deny that," Barcelona's technical director Ramon Planes told reporters.

“He's a player we count on, we know his potential. We hope this year the team sees the best of him.”

Ronald Koeman said earlier this week that any potential move would be up to Dembele and Barcelona, but that he would count on the player as a member of his squad should he opt to stay.
