In a thrilling Saudi Pro League encounter, Al-Ahli hosts league leaders Al-Hilal at the King Abdullah Sports City on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Both teams have much at stake, with Al-Hilal aiming to extend their lead at the top while Al-Ahli fights for a Champions League qualifying spot.

Match Preview

Al-Ahli Current Form

Al-Ahli comes into this clash on the back of an impressive 4-1 victory over Damac, securing crucial points in their pursuit of a top-three finish.

Quickfire goals from Ziyad Aljohani, Firas Al-Buraikan, Riyad Mahrez, and Roberto Firmino sealed the win. Their form at home has been commendable, remaining unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches.

However, Al-Ahli faces a tough challenge as they haven't won against Al-Hilal in their last five meetings, with their most recent defeat coming in August 2020.

Al-Hilal Current Form

Meanwhile, Al-Hilal is in imperious form, recently cruising to a 3-0 victory over Al-Taawoun.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Saud Abdulhamid, and Saleh Al-Shehri found the back of the net, highlighting Al-Hilal’s attacking prowess.

Their defence has also been formidable, with Bono between the sticks and Kalidou Koulibaly marshalling the backline.

The team is currently on a 22-match winning streak in the league, remaining undefeated this season.

Team News and Lineups

Al-Ahli

Ziyad Aljohani's injury could rule him out, with Ali Al-Asmari likely to step in alongside Franck Kessie.

Al-Hilal

Aleksandar Mitrovic, the leading scorer with 23 league goals, will spearhead Al-Hilal’s attack.

Bono; Al-Burayk, Albulayhi, Koulibaly, Abdulhamid; Neves, Milinkovic-Savic; Al-Dawsari, Michael, Mitrovic

Prediction
