Both Milan and Roma have key players back at their disposal for the huge Europa League clash between the two Italian sides on Thursday.

This game is the only European fixture this midweek that sees two clubs from the same country face-off, so there is certainly an added incentive for both Milan and Roma here.

They never faced each other in European competition before.

Milan Team News and predicted XI

Stefano Pioli has issues to address in defence as he will be without Fikayo Tomori due to suspension and Pierre Kalulu due to injury. Malick Thiaw has returned to training but the Roma game may come too early for him, which means a likely start in the centre of defence for Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia.

He does have Ruben Loftus-Cheek back available after he served a domestic suspension for the Lecce game, however.

Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic and Rafael all scored in a 3-0 win over Lecce at the weekend, so expect them to retain their spots in the starting XI.

Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Hernandez; Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud.

Roma Team News and predicted XI

Sardar Azmoun and Evan Ndicka are both missing for Roma due to injury and suspension, respectively.

Tammy Abraham made his long-awaited return to the team in the win over Lazio following a lengthy ACL injury layoff and he is included in the squad to face Roma, though he'll likely have to settle for a place on the bench.

Paulo Dybala is Roma's top scorer in Serie A, while Romelu Lukaku is their top scorer in the Europa League, so expect them to feature in the forward line alongside Stephan El Shaarawy, who has five assists in the Europa League.

Roma (4-3-3): Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Llorente, Angelino; Cristante, Paredes, Pellegrini; Dybala, Lukaku, El Shaarawy.
