The pressure is on Manchester United as they travel to face West Ham in Premier League action on Sunday.

The Red Devils slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday, with a sloppy pass from Jesse Lingard setting up a stoppage-time winner for the Swiss outfit.

United spent much of the midweek encounter playing with 10 men following the dismissal of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the first half, an event that was the catalyst to a dramatic downturn in the Premier League side’s fortunes.

Questions are being asked of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once more and he will be expected to answer them on Sunday.

With this in mind, Man Utd will name a strong squad for the match, which is the first of two in four days against David Moyes’ West Ham.

The EFL Cup fixture on Wednesday at Old Trafford, however, is unlikely to have much importance attached to it, certainly by United.

Changes in the starting XI are likely to be slight.

Wan-Bissaka’s dismissal means that he will be banned from Man Utd’s next Champions League fixture – a clash against Villarreal at home – but he should feature here.

Victor Lindelof, however, will drop out of defence to be replaced by Raphael Varane.

In midfield, Donny van de Beek was sacrificed in midweek after the sending off, and having been given a rare chance from the start against Young Boys, the Dutchman is likely to find himself back among the replacements for this encounter.

Some rotation could take place in the front four, though Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes must surely start, while Paul Pogba’s electric form early in the season means that he will be tough to drop.

Solskjaer does, however, have options, with the likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial on the bench.

Jadon Sancho is perhaps the likeliest to fall out after a slow start to his career at Old Trafford, but the Norwegian will want to get the winger up and running as quickly as possible.

Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles are all out, while Scott McTominay is a doubt.
