How Juventus and Chelsea could line up in the Champions League

After they both won their opening group stage games, Juventus and Chelsea will be looking to make it two from two. How will each side line up?

Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea side travel to Turin to face Juventus in the second tie of their Champions League group stage.

Both teams picked up wins in the first game, with Chelsea seeing of Zenit, while Juventus dispatched Malmo. So, they're looking to make it two wins from two, and take an early lead in Group H.

It's obviously early doors, but these two sides unsurprisingly look like the class of the field in the group, and hence this will be a crucial game in determining who finishes top and who ends up second.

Both teams have injury issues, with Juventus missing both Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata, severely reducing the quality of their attack, while Chelsea won't be able to call upon Reece James, who went down during their league loss to Manchester City, and isn't likely to feature.

The Blues have been handed a boost, however, as Mason Mount is reportedly fit, and available to play after he missed their most recent game through injury. He will, though, only feature off the bench, rather than from the start.

How will Juventus and Chelsea line up?

Massimiliano Allegri dropped Wojciech Szczesny for their last league game, with Mattia Perin coming in to replace him after the Polish goalkeeper made several high-profile errors to start the season. However, Szczesny is likely to return, with a back four of Danilo, Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, and Alex Sandro in front of him.

Allegri may well deploy a 4-4-2, and if he does, then Juan Cuadrado will play as the right midfielder, with Federico Bernadeschi on the opposite flank.

Manuel Locatelli and Rodrigo Bentancur will be the double pivot.

Moise Kean and Federico Chiesa, subject to interest from Chelsea, could well lead the line, with Chiesa given license to roam.

As for Chelsea, Edouard Mendy returned against Man City, and should keep his place. A back three of Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, and Antonio Rudiger will be used, while Cesar Azpilicueta will play as the right wing-back with James injured. Marcos Alonso is keeping Ben Chilwell out the side, and expect this to continue.

A 3-5-2 didn't work against Man City, and so Tuchel won't use it here. Jorginho and N'Golo Kante is his preferred midfield duo, but Mateo Kovacic has had impressive start to the season, and the Frenchman could find himself out of the squad as he reportedly has yet another knock.

A front three of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, and Romelu Lukaku could be the chosen option with Mount not fully fit.
