Full strength side? - How Man City could line up against Brentford?

Pep Guardiola is likely to have nearly a full compliment of players at his disposal as his Manchester City side look to extend their lead in the Premier League.

Manchester City face Brentford on Wednesday night looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 12 points.

Pep Guardiola's side are currently nine points clear of Liverpool in second, but the Reds do have a game in hand. However, Man City have the chance to put the pressure on Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of their clash with Leicester on Thursday.

Not only that, but Guardiola will have almost a full squad to choose from against the Bees, with Gabriel Jesus and Cole Palmer the only expected absentees. In fact, Jesus may make the bench, so the young Englishman could be the only player excluded from the squad due to injury or illness.

They face a Brentford side who currently sit 14th in the league, eight points clear of the relegation zone, and able to call upon the services of January signing Christian Eriksen, the former Tottenham and Inter attacking midfielder.

But, how will City line up in the game?

Manchester City Potential Starting XI

Ederson has returned from Brazil duty, and so will reclaim his place from stand-in goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who was unable to keep a clean sheet against Fulham in the FA Cup fourth round over the weekend.

As for the back four it will be as expected. Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo will be the full-backs, while Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte will play in the middle.

Rodri, who has been in excellent form this season, will continue in his role as the single pivot at the base of midfield, and he'll be flanked by the duo of Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

Riyad Mahrez, who scored twice against Fulham on Saturday, will once again be deployed on the right, while Phil Foden will also keep his place.

Jack Grealish may be the man to miss out, with Raheem Sterling taking his place in the forward line.
