WHAT IS JOB SECURITY?

FC have devised an algorithm which tracks news stories and sentiment regarding coaches for the top five leagues in Europe, plus the English Championship.

Once a week, we cross-reference our data with our group of league-specific experts to reorder the list and change manager status based on the data available.

We then outlay the data based on the format used in Championship Manager to highlight who is safe, and who is moving closer to the exit door.

You can bookmark the link below where the Job Security section will be updated every Wednesday.

We'll also focus on one coach a week who may well be heading towards trouble, as well as adjusting the positions of other coaches who have good/bad results.

  • Team in relegation positions
  • Uwe Rosler hired as replacement

Friedhelm Funkel has been a stalwart of Dusseldorf for the past four seasons but the club took the decision to act this week and relieve him of his duties, with the team in the relegation positions.

An immediate new coach bounce was felt as replacement Uwe Rosler was able to secure a good draw with Frankfurt, but there is a significant amount of work ahead to ensure that Dusseldorf are able to retain their top flight status.

Elsewhere, a week that started with a crushing 7-0 defeat to Atalanta for Torino and Walter Mazzarri ended with an arguably even more damaging loss, 4-0 to a poor Lecce outfit. It's not all Mazzarri's fault, but if there's to be another coaching casualty this week it could easily be him.
