FORMATION 4-1-4-1

Sommer was superb in Gladbach's convincing away victory in Hoffenheim, keeping a clean sheet and giving the forwards a platform to win the match.

Weiser proved to be not only a useful attacking threat for Leverkusen in their win at Augsburg, he was solid defensively too, 3/3 tackles won, four recoveries and four interceptions.

A top five performer this week, Boyata was imperious in defence for a Hertha Berlin side bouncing back from a bad run of results. Boyata made a round-high 10 clearances as well as scoring the final goal in a four nil win.

Bender continues to be as composed a passer as there is in the Bundesliga, completing an impressive 107/113 (94.5%) passes as well as five ball recoveries. Bender is the archetype ball-playing defender.

Eight clearances, nine recoveries and a winning goal to boot for Tisserand as Wolfsburg ground out a hard-earned 1-0 win in Mainz.

Schalke's form has taken an impressive upturn in recent weeks and Mascarell's screening ability has helped to shore up what has regularly been a porous defence, putting up exemplary DMC numbers in the process.

Gnabry has already built a positive relationship with Philippe Coutinho and the two assisted each other as the took apart Paderborn, the first a neat finish, the second put on a plate for the Brazilian to convert.

Havertz hasn't hit the heights so far this season but he turned a corner against Augsburg, shaping the outcome of the match as well pitching in with the finishing touch to a sweeping team move.

Coutinho already looks to be a winning signing for Bayern, and his relationship with his team-mates is already attuned. His delicate assist to Gnabry set the ball rolling, before scoring himself in the second half.

Thuram has been a key player for Gladbach in the past week, coming off the bench to turn things around against Dusseldorf before his star showing here, a brilliant assist for Alassane Plea and a well-worked individual goal of his own.

Bundesliga Player of the Week Plea was simply outstanding for Gladbach, scoring a poacher's goal in the first half before turning provider in the second. He also created another two clear openings for team-mates in a hugely impactful display.
