Eden Hazard could end up costing Real Madrid as much as €160m due to a dispute between the Spanish champions, Chelsea, and Tubeze.

After starring in the Premier League for the Blues, the Belgian earned a huge move to Real Madrid ahead of the 2019/20 season.

At the time, the fee was believed to be an initial €100m plus potential bonuses, but new figures revealed by HLN detail how Tubeze, the club who trained Hazard, are due compensation from Chelsea and Madrid.

The Dutch outlet report that the fee will be paid in the following instalments:

2019 - €40m (£36m)

2020 - €56m (£50m)

2021 - €64m (£57m)

Chelsea have been assured that they will get at least €130m for Hazard, while Tubeze are due two payments of 0.25% of any transfer fee.

The new amounts have emerged following an alleged fraud regarding FIFA’s training compensation laws, with a compared named AFC Tubize SA moonlighting as Tubize FC in Belgium.

Chelsea were under a transfer ban last season but have made up for lost time this summer as they have spent £136m so far on Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell, while Kai Havertz is expected to join this weekend.

However, their splurge in the transfer market now makes for more understandable figures considering the windfall they have and will receive for Hazard.
