An investigation is ongoing to determine whether Luis Suarez cheated on the exam he is required to pass to gain Italian citizenship.
After Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman told him he could leave the club, Juventus made their interest known in taking him off the hands of the Camp Nou side.
However, with their non-EU player registration slots already filled, Suarez would need to complete an exam in order to sign for them.
The Uruguayan is eligible for the passport as he is married to an Italian citizen, with him taking and subsequently passing the test in Perugia last week.

However, an investigation is now ongoing after accusations emerged that he knew what the questions would be beforehand.
“During the investigations, irregularities emerged in the exam taken by Luis Suarez to obtain the Italian citizenship," a statement released by Italian authorities said.
“From the investigative activities it emerged that the topics covered by the exam had been agreed in advance and that the score had been assigned before the exam, and that the candidate had demonstrated only an elementary knowledge of the Italian language.
“Today the financial police are carrying out documentary acquisitions at the University of Perugia aimed at confirming the conduct described and notifying for crimes of disclosure of office secrets, ideological falsehood committed by public officials and more.”
The investigation is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Perugia and the Guardia di Finanza.
Over the past few days, interest in Suarez has cooled on Juve's part, with Andrea Pirlo turning his attention to Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Morata.
Suarez, meanwhile, is on Atletico Madrid's radar.
