Ben White, coveted by a number of Premier League clubs, has agreed an improved four-year deal with Brighton, running until June 2024.

The centre-back was an integral part of Leeds United's Championship-winning season, playing in every match and enhancing his growing reputation.

Marcelo Bielsa was extremely keen to sign White on a permanent deal and had made numerous enquiries, with Aston Villa and even Liverpool linked with a move for the 22-year-old.

But Brighton boss Graham Potter was always insistent that White is an integral part of the club's future and that it would take a gigantic offer in order for a sale to be considered.

Leeds have since turned to other targets and it appears that White will now spend next season at least on the south coast, having signed a contract with an increase in salary.
