Inter have completed the signing of Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid for a reported fee of €40m.

The Moroccan International has spent the last two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund who were keen to retain his services on a permanent basis after the period of success, but the player returned to Real Madrid at the conclusion of the German Bundesliga campaign.

Los Blancos are already well-stocked in the full-back department with Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Marcelo and Ferland Mendy currently at the club, with Alvaro Odriozola and Sergio Reguilon returning from loan spells at Bayern and Sevilla respectively also.

Therefore Madrid were keen to cash in on Hakimi, with Antonio Conte’s side winning the race for his signature this week.

The 21-year-old can play in a variety of positions and has featured as a full-back and wing-back for Dortmund on both sides of the pitch.

With Conte utilising a 3-5-2 formation with the Nerazzurri, Hakimi will slot in perfectly in either wing-back slot.

A product of the Madrid youth system, he starred for Castilla before making 17 appearances for the senior team, with his development taking him to BVB on loan, where he flourished under head coach Lucien Favre.

Hakimi contributed five goals and 10 assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga in 19/20, earning himself a 88 FC Rating for his performances.

He is believed to have chosen Inter ahead of strong Interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
