Borussia Dortmund continued their hunt for a top four finish in this season’s Bundesliga with an impressive 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday afternoon.
The result now means that Edin Terzic’s side sit just three points behind Eintracht Frankfurt in fifth place, following the Eagles' 2-1 defeat to Werder Bremen on Friday night.
It was an important result for the Bundesliga giants, knowing that much of the financial and sporting success for next season relies on the club reaching the Champions League next season.

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE
Mahmoud Dahoud: 8.6
Much of this season has passed Mahmoud Dahoud by at Dortmund for one reason or another but Terzic has turned to the central midfielder to fill in for the injured Axel Witsel in recent weeks and he hasn’t let his interim head coach down.
Dahoud bagged an important goal in the 3-2 win over Sevilla in the Champions League last week and was once again on the scoresheet on Saturday when a pass from Jadon Sancho found Dahoud on the edge of the box, allowing the midfielder to fire the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.

Gio Reyna: 6.1
While Sancho’s return to form will delight everyone at Dortmund at the moment, one player that seemingly hasn’t benefited from the England international’s goals and assists is Gio Reyna. The young American talent was often used as an alternative to Sancho in the first half of the season and began to shine in Sancho’s absence.
However, like much of his performances in 2021, Saturday’s clash was one in which Reyna struggled to show his worth alongside the rest of Dortmund’s star-studded line up. The young winger managed just 37 touches before getting subbed off in the 70th minute and had little more than a single shot to show for his troubles on the day.

Jadon Sancho: 8.8
Sancho is quite simply unplayable at the moment. In just 12 games since the turn of the year, the Dortmund winger has managed to rack up an incredible tally of seven goals and seven assists and has undoubtedly been one of the most in-form players in all of European football for the last few months.
As previously mentioned, Sancho’s first moment of genius came a few minutes into the second half when he set up Dahoud to score an important opening goal for Dortmund. Then, just 10 minutes later, the England international stepped up to the penalty spot and fired the ball into the back of the net to make it two for his side.
On the day, it was another all-round performance from Sancho as he showed his capacity to create goals just as easily as he seems to score them.
