RB Leipzig planning for 8,500 fans in stadium when Bundesliga returns
RB Leipzig are leading the way in the effort to have fans back in football stadiums, and are confident they will have 8,500 fans inside when the Bundesliga returns.
A number of trials have taken place in friendly matches across Europe as clubs aim to follow respective country protocol but also allow supporters to begin to return to arenas for the first time since March.
Uefa are planning a test event for the European Super Cup clash between Bayern Munich and Sevilla on 24 September, and it is thought that the Premier League is also looking at what measures they can put in place.
And in Germany Leipzig are hoping to be the first large-scale test case, with 20% of the capacity of the stadium for the match against Mainz on 20 September being filled.
The club have the blessing of the local health authority and though the club have 22,500 season ticket holders for the new campaign, it is understood that a raffle will be held to establish which fans will be allowed to attend.

No tickets will be on general sale, and only people who have a registered address in the area of Saxony will be permitted to attend the match.
It is the first steps towards fans returning full-time, with clubs desperate to begin generating matchday revenue once again.
