There's the old saying, too good for the Championship, not good enough for the Premier League, and in the case of Mitrovic the second part remains a little unproven, but the first part is in no doubt. The Serb smashed a hat-trick past luckless Luton and was absolutely clinical inside the area. His first was a brilliant turn before firing into the roof of the net, then he was in the right place to tap home from close range. His downward header sealed his treble and, ultimately, the points.
Tom Bradshaw isn't long back from a bad injury but he scored in his fourth consecutive match to earn Millwall a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Cardiff. His first showed perseverance to cut onto his right and smash across goal, while his second was even better, dribbling past static Cardiff defending to lash into the far corner. New manager Gary Rowett was watching on and he'll be pleased with what he saw from the forward.
There's nothing sweeter than scoring a winning goal in the eighth minute of injury time, but even more so when the goal is of the highest quality. Step forward Josh Brownhill, who collected a long pass with a superb first touch and slammed past the goalkeeper to clinch the points. Beyond that he was a real threat through the contest for his team and his winner was deserved for an all-round sterling display.
Boy, did Derby need a result and the veteran Davies stepped up to produce a true defensive performance against a Wigan team who had more than their fair share of possession. But they couldn't get past Davies, who won 16/19 duels, four of his five tackles, and nine of his 11 aerial challenges. Everything that Wigan threw forward, Davies was able to repel.
Woodrow found himself extremely unfortunate to be on the losing side at West Brom after single-handedly dominating them for long spells. He scored two first-half goals, the second a fantastic shift and shot, and headed against the crossbar in the second before WBA staged an unlikely comeback. Barnsley turned over a lot of players in close season but Woodrow remains so important to them.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Harlee Dean's excellent defensive display earned Birmingham all three points at home to Blackburn, while Junior Hoilett's curler was brilliant, but not enough to earn Cardiff the win at Millwall.
