Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of breaching coronavirus quarantine protocols after returning to Italy following a positive test.
While on international duty with Portugal, the Juventus star tested positive and was subsequently ordered to self-isolate, while he missed the national team's match against Sweden.
Following the news, Juventus released a statement a few days later indicating that Ronaldo had returned to Turin via a private jet to continue his quarantine.
“Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Italy with a medical flight authorized by the relevant health authorities at the request of the player and will continue his isolation at his home," the statement read.

However, Italy’s minister of sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, has now revealed that he was unaware of any authorised flight which granted Ronaldo access back into the country, and that the 35-year-old likely breached safety regulations by returning.
“Without authorisation from the health authorities, I think he has violated the protocol," he told Rai Radio.
It is unclear at the moment whether the flight back to Italy was indeed authorised by the relevant authorities or whether Ronaldo will face any punishment.
Due to being in quarantine, he will Juve's match this weekend versus Crotone and their opening Champions League group stage match against Dynamo Kyiv.
He will only return to training a few days before the Bianconeri take on Barcelona in the Champions League a week later.
