Here is everything that happened during Gameweek 29:

Friday 15th March

Real Sociedad vs Cadiz Result

Real Sociedad managed to take a 2-0 victory at home to Cadiz to start off Gameweek 29, with goals from Merino and Zakharyan being enough for the home side to take all three points.

The win keeps Sociedad comfortably in sixth place and a potential Europa League excursion next season, should they see off the likes of Betis and Valencia, who are both within touching distance.

Saturday 16th March

Real Madrid's Unwavering Quest Continues

In a compelling match at Osasuna, Real Madrid showcased their championship mettle with a 4-2 victory, a testament to their relentless pursuit of the title. Vinícius Júnior, Real Madrid's dynamo, was at the forefront of this crucial win, netting twice to steer his team closer to glory.

The match unfolded with rapid intensity as Vinícius put Real ahead within the first four minutes, setting the tone for what was to become a showcase of their attacking prowess.

Osasuna, not ones to back down easily, found a moment of brilliance with Ante Budimir levelling the score shortly after. However, Real's determination shone through, with Dani Carvajal and Brahim Díaz adding to the tally, ensuring a comfortable lead.

Osasuna managed to pull one back in stoppage time, but it was too little too late. This victory is a clear message from Real Madrid: their eyes are set firmly on the top prize in Spanish football once again.

Other Saturday Results

Elsewhere, Mallorca beat Granada 1-0 and Getafe edged past Girona 1-0. In the late kickoff, Athletic Club beat Alaves 2-0.

Sunday 17th March

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Result

Barcelona made a resounding statement against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. In a much-anticipated clash, the Catalans handed Atletico their heaviest home defeat since November 2016, winning 3-0 at the Civitas Metropolitano.

This victory not only ended Atletico's 25-match unbeaten streak at home but also propelled Barcelona to second place, keeping their slim title hopes alive.

Barcelona's Triumph at the Civitas Metropolitano

The match was a tactical masterpiece from Barcelona, who managed to overcome Atletico's initial dominance to secure a decisive win.

Joao Felix haunted his former club by opening the scoring, followed by goals from Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez.

Barcelona's ability to transition from defence to attack was on full display, with their third goal epitomising counter-attacking football at its best.
