Chelsea defeated Fulham 2-0 on Saturday in a huge boost to their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four.

A competitive London derby saw Kai Havertz score in each half as Thomas Tuchel's men emerged with a victory at Stamford Bridge.

They moved six points clear of fifth-placed West Ham, putting them in a strong position ahead of their crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid.

Chelsea 2-0 Fulham: Player Ratings and Match Statistics

We have looked at some of the best performers in the match.

✔️ Edouard Mendy: 7.1

It looked clear that Chelsea would come out on top from the moment Havertz got his second goal but before then it was often an even and competitive contest.

In a big moment, Mendy made a pivotal save when an effort from Ola Aina took a deflection while he also made a fingertip stop to deny Antonee Robinson.

Three first-half saves meant he had to work hard for an impressive sixth clean sheet in his last eight Premier League matches.

✔️ Mason Mount: 7.1

Mount was promptly substituted by Tuchel in the latter stages after an awkward landing on his back, with the manager relieved his midfielder did not seem to have suffered a bad injury.

Tuchel was understandably reluctant to take any chances with a key player after what looked like a painful moment.

The England international was excellent before coming off, assisting the first goal for Havertz with a sublime piece of control and a nice pass at the end of a fine team move.

Mount, whose 21 passes into the final third were a team high, now has seven goal involvements under Tuchel, more than any other player.

⭐️ Kai Havertz: 8.8

This is the best FC Rating recorded by Havertz in his Premier League career.

He impressed with a goal and assist against Crystal Palace last month and made an excellent contribution here as well.

Havertz scored from his only two shots, finding the bottom corner with a left-footed effort each time, and had more touches in the box (8) than anyone else on the pitch.

His excellent link-up play with fellow Germany star Timo Werner to wrap up the points was exactly the type of sequence Chelsea fans would have hoped to see much more of this season.

After this crucial contribution towards securing Champions League football next season, Havertz will be eyeing a key role against Real Madrid in the semi-finals of this year's competition after coming off the bench in the first leg.
