Switzerland will hope to finally claim a victory in the 2024/25 Nations League when they face Serbia this Friday.

So far, the Swiss are yet to taste victory in their four matches so far, and face a Serbia side fresh off a 3-0 defeat to Spain.

Match Preview

Switzerland Recent Form

Switzerland earned a point in their last game after a 2-2 draw with Denmark. Prior to that, they lost three games in a row 2-0 versus Denmark, 4-1 versus Spain and 2-0 against Serbia.

Switzerland Injury News

The Swiss will be without Nico Elvedi and Manuel Akanji due to injury which presents Murat Yakin with a defensive issue, as Fabian Schar is also unavailable after retiring from international football.

The only centre-backs in the squad are two players yet to receive a cap - Aurele Amenda and Albian Hajdari.

Serbia have been boosted by the return of Dusan Vlahovic, who missed the last two international breaks, allegedly due to personal issues.

Ivan IIlic is injured.

Here's how Serbia lined up against Spain.

(5-3-2): Rajkovic; Nedeljkovic, Erakovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Birmancevic; Samardzic, Maksimovic, Zdjelar; Mitrovic, Joveljic

Switzerland - Player To Watch

While veterans like Xherdan Shaqiri and Schar have retired, influential midfielder Granit Xhaka remains and he'll be key in the middle of the pitch here.

Serbia - Player To Watch

Even though Vlahovic is back in the squad, Serbia's main man remains Mitrovic, who is in excellent form for both club and country.

Switzerland vs Serbia - Prediction

Switzerland have the home advantage this time around, but they will be fielding two rookie centre-backs against Mitrovic and Vlahovic, so Serbia will get some joy in the final third.

Scoreline prediction - Switzerland 1-1 Serbia
