Jadon Sancho has sent a message of sorts to Manchester United by admitting that he still loves playing for Dortmund despite the continued speculation surrounding a move to Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old joined Dortmund from Man City when he was 17 and has flourished to become one of the elite wingers in Europe.
His performances have attracted interest from outside Germany, with Man Utd currently locked in negotiations with BVB, with the Bundesliga side holding out for a fee of around €120m.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side received a blow in their pursuit of Sancho earlier this week when Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insisted the player would now not be sold after Man Utd missed the ‘deadline’ to iron out the transfer.
It is believed that Sancho wants the move to United, but if it doesn’t happen this summer it appears he won’t be that bothered, as he said on Wednesday that he still loves playing for Dortmund, especially alongside their younger up and coming stars.
"I love playing with this lot," Sancho told BVB-TV.
“It is a special bunch. We've got some special young players coming up. I am really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them.
"I was once in their shoes, playing with the seniors. I am happy for them."
Sancho is only 20-years-old, but with three seasons or so of elite football under his belt, he has taken on a mentor role to some of the young players in the squad such as Giovanni Reyna and compatriot Jude Bellingham, who recently completed a big money move from Birmingham.
"I joined [Dortmund] when I was 17," he continued.
"Some of the lads are the same age. I've been there and done that. I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well."
