Premier League Table: Man Utd now 12 points behind Man City after Chelsea bore-draw

Manchester United could only manage a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, which leaves them well off their city rivals now

Manchester City's chances of winning the Premier League increased ever further on Sunday as their two nearest rivals both failed to win.

Local rivals Man Utd travelled to west London to play Chelsea and they simply had to win after City had beaten West Ham 2-1 on Saturday.

However, in a truly forgettable game with virtually no clear chances, Man United and Chelsea played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

The result means that United now find themselves 12 points behind Pep Guardiola's men with 12 games remaining this season.

Chelsea's point meant they closed the gap on West Ham in fourth to just one point, so they won't be too disappointed with the outcome.

Third-placed Leicester City now find themselves 13 points off Man City but they will be more worried by what is over their shoulder after being well-beaten 3-1 by Arsenal.

Youri Tielemans gave Leicester an early lead but Arsenal turned the match around with goals from David Luiz, an Alexandre Lacazette penalty and Nicolas Pepe strike.

The Gunners move back into the top-half of the table but they are still eight points off the Champions League places.

Liverpool, though, are back in the top-four race as they ended their four-game losing streak by winning 2-0 at rock-bottom Sheffield United.

A Curtis Jones goal and a Kean Bryan own goal did the damage against a Sheffield United team that now seems destined for relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur also put an end to their dreadful recent Premier League form by thrashing Burnley 4-0.

Gareth Bale capped off an excellent week with two goals and an assist. Harry Kane and Lucas Moura grabbed the other goals.

The early match saw Fulham draw 0-0 with Crystal Palace, a result they will be disappointed with given how the match went. They remain three points off safety.
