Chelsea progressed to the Champions League semi-finals despite a 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Porto on Tuesday night.
Following a 2-0 win in the first leg, Thomas Tuchel's side were able to still make their way to the next round after completing much of the task last week.
Chelsea v Porto: Player Ratings, Match Statistics
But which players stood out most?
✔️ Antonio Rudiger : 7.4
In a match that saw very little attacking intent from either side, Chelsea will undoubtedly take pride from their defensive performance. At the heart of that was central defender Antonio Rudiger.
The German defender has been given a new lease of life under Tuchel and showed as much on Tuesday, with five aerials duels won, five clearances and an all-round impressive night with his passing out of defence.
❌ Moussa Marega: 5.7
Following a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, Porto knew that they needed to score at least two goals to turn this tie back in their favour. However, unfortunately for the Portuguese side, their striker severely let them down on the night.
Over the course of the game at Stamford Bridge the 29-year-old goalscorer managed just 22 touches of the ball and just one shot on target. In contrast, he gave up possession on seven separate occasions and routinely let his side down as they attempted to turn the tie in their favour.
⭐ Jorginho: 8.0
Although Chelsea were favourites for this second leg, Tuchel would have undoubtedly known that Porto packed more than a punch. As such, he needed a midfield enforcer to cut out any counter attacks from the visiting side on the night. And that’s exactly what Jorginho did.
Not only did the Italian midfielder make more tackles than any other player on the pitch, but he also managed eight ball recoveries, four clearances and two interceptions. The central midfielder was simply everywhere and snuffed out Porto’s chances throughout the night.
