Josep Maria Bartomeu's reign as president of Barcelona has come to an end after his resignation following the vote of no confidence against him from club members.
Nearly 20,000 Barcelona club members signed a motion against Bartomeu's presidency earlier this month and delivered it to Camp Nou, expressing their dissatisfaction with his running of the club.
Each name required verification, and the number required was reached, surpassing similar situations regarding Joan Laporta in 2008 and Josep Lluis Nunez in 1998.

The Socios had the right to announce a referendum and Bartomeu appealed the decision but this had been rejected, paving the way for a vote at the request of the Board of Directors.
But Bartomeu has chosen to resign from his position rather than face a public vote, leaving the club in disarray. He presented his decision on Tuesday and the proposal was approved without discussion.
The former president of Barça followed the tumultuous reign of Sandro Rosell in 2014 and was confirmed as president the following year.
But the club's fractured transfer policy - including the sale of Neymar and the significant expenditure required to replace him - led to questions over his management.
And the public run-in with Lionel Messi during the summer will have contributed to his demise. Now, elections will be called and Barcelona will soon have a new president in charge.
