Arsenal extended their unbeaten Premier League run to seven matches in 2020 after narrowly defeating Everton 3-2 in an entertaining game at the Emirates.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the star of the match, and of the Premier League weekend as his two goals were key to the victory.

His first had echoes of peak Thierry Henry as he latched on to a David Luiz pass threaded down the left before running through and opening up his foot to curl a precise finish into the right corner.

The next one proved to the winning goal and was scored just a minute into the second half as he bravely sent a header into the bottom corner despite the attentions of Djibril Sidibe.

He enjoyed 42 touches in the game, and won 6/8 duels.

Dwight McNeil's stock continues to rise in English football this season, as he put in another superb outing for Burnley in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

After a tight first half which saw plenty of VAR drama, he set up the opener after the break with a slid pass to the left for Matej Vydra to score.

Then, after a Jay Rodriguez penalty, he made it three to take the game beyond the Cherries with a brilliant dribble followed up by a lashed finish into the right corner from the edge of the box.

He only misplaced five passes the entire game, and sent eight crosses into the box which was the second-most of any player this Premier League weekend.

Patrick van Aanholt proved to be the unlikely match winner as Crystal Palace emerged as 1-0 victors versus Newcastle.

For the only goal of the game, which came a minute before half-time, he stepped up to send a magnificent, whipped free-kick into the left corner from 25 yards.

He impressed in other areas, too, particularly with his distribution. He completed 43/50 attempted passes, 14 of which were sent into the final third, while like McNeil, he also delivered eight crosses into the danger area.

Diogo Jota scored a hat-trick in the Europa League last Thursday and continued his fantastic week by scoring another two in Wolves' comfortable 3-0 win against Norwich.

The visitors actually started the game the better of the two sides, but the wind was taken out of their sails by Jota 19 minutes in when he drilled a finish under the keeper after the assist from Matt Doherty.

Then he made it two 11 minutes later with a close range finish, which took his tally to five in four days.

It looked like he would earn two consecutive hat-tricks when he ran through on goal to send a low strike towards the bottom corner, only for it to bounce off the inside of the post. Raul Jimenez was there to pounce on the rebound, though.

Kasper Schmeichel

Leicester were slightly unlucky to come out second best against Man City, as they lost by a solitary goal.

Kasper Schmeichel in particular did his best to shut out Pep Guardiola's side, as he made six saves in total, including one from the penalty spot to deny Sergio Aguero just after the hour mark.

He did let himself down a bit with his distribution, though, as he completed just 14 out of 26 passes from the back.

HONOURABLE MENTION

In the final match of the weekend, Trent Alexander-Arnold (8.3) recorded two assists as Liverpool came back from behind to beat West Ham 3-2.

ROUND TO FORGET

Glenn Murray (5.2) was on the pitch for 75 minutes against Sheffield Utd, but only managed one shot on goal, while he completed just two passes.
