In a crucial La Liga encounter, Mallorca will host Las Palmas at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday afternoon.

With both teams seeking a positive result to secure their survival in the top flight, this matchup promises to deliver high-stakes drama.

Match Preview

Mallorca

Mallorca, who finished ninth last season, are now fighting to avoid relegation.

Javier Aguirre's team sits precariously in 17th place with 32 points from 34 matches, just six points clear of the relegation zone.

They will aim to snap a five-match winless streak that includes three losses, having last won a league game against Granada in mid-March.

The side have amassed 22 points from their 17 home games and will be eager to capitalise on home advantage in this clash.

Las Palmas

Meanwhile, Las Palmas are also looking to halt a woeful run of form, having lost their last seven league matches.

Despite their early-season success, the side have slumped to 14th place, just five points above Mallorca with 37 points from 34 games.

Under Garcia Pimienta, Las Palmas haven't won since February and have only scored once in their last seven games.

They have, however, collected 15 points on their travels this season and will hope to exploit Mallorca's vulnerabilities.

Team News

Mallorca

Mallorca have a fully-fit squad available. Aguirre is expected to stick with most of the team that lost narrowly to Atletico Madrid last weekend.

However, a change could occur up front, with Cyle Larin possibly replacing Abdon Prats.

A five-man defence will feature Pablo Maffeo and Toni Lato in wing-back roles.

Expected Starting XI

Rajkovic; Maffeo, Valjent, Raillo, Nastasic, Lato; D Rodriguez, Mascarell, Darder; Muriqi, Larin

Las Palmas

Sergi Cardona will miss out due to suspension. Despite this, Garcia Pimienta has no injury concerns and is expected to rotate his lineup after their defeat to Real Sociedad.

Javi Munoz, Sandro Ramirez, and Julian Araujo could all come into the starting eleven.

Expected Starting XI

Valles; Araujo, Coco, Suarez, Sinkgraven; Park, Munoz, K Rodriguez, B Ramirez; S Ramirez, Moleiro

Prediction

Given their home advantage and Las Palmas' dismal form, Mallorca are favoured to claim a narrow victory.

Despite a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier this season, Las Palmas' recent struggles suggest another loss is on the cards.

Our Prediction: Mallorca 1-0 Las Palmas
