What is FC Ranking?

A player's FC Ranking is calculated using the following three key elements:

- A player's average FC Match Rating across their last 1800 minutes of football

- The quality of the competition in which the player is competing

- Additional bonuses rewarded which are dependent on the player's position.

We possess over 50,000 players in our database and, currently, only nine have a perfect score of 99. Our database is updated each and every Monday.

Lionel Messi – Barcelona, FC Ranking: 99

The Primera Division is set to return in a couple of weeks, but even though Messi has had an extended break from competition, it obviously hasn't hurt his perfect rating for the season. This campaign he has contributed to 31 goals in the league for Barcelona via 19 scored himself complemented by 12 assists.

Robert Lewandowski – Bayern Munich, FC Ranking: 99

The Polish superstar has been in scintillating form since the return of the Bundesliga after the worldwide pandemic. He has scored four goals in four games including two in Bayern's comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Fortuna Dusseldorf this past weekend. That took his tally to a quite remarkable 29 goals in 24 games in the German top flight this season.

Jadon Sancho – Borussia Dortmund, FC Ranking: 99

Injuries have made Sancho's return to the starting XI stop-start since the Bundesliga recommenced, but he certainly reclaimed his form at the weekend as Dortmund fired six past Paderborn, with him scoring three of those. This campaign so far, he has contributed to 33 goals through 17 scored himself and 16 assists.

Neymar – PSG, FC Ranking: 99

PSG were named champions without having to play any further games after Ligue 1 was finished early. Taking into account Neymar's form before the cancellation, however, and he was still wonderful. Even though he does contribute a healthy amount of goals, it is his creation that has arguably been the most impressive aspect of his performances, as out of everyone on our list nobody has sent more passes into the final third than the Brazilian with an average of 32.1 per 90.

Kylian Mbappe – PSG, FC Ranking: 99

Joining his PSG teammate Neymar with a perfect FC ranking, there almost seems to be an arms race between Mbappe and Erling Haaland, as to who will be Europe’s number one forward in the next few years. Whoever it turns out to be, it is going to be a fantastic battle to sit back and watch. Of all the players on 99, nobody has more accurate shots on goal or touches the ball in the opposition box more than the World Cup winner.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Juventus, FC Ranking: 99

Worthy of the moniker of ‘Mr Consistent’ for Juventus and with 21 Serie A goals this season from 22 appearances, the 35-year-old phenom is doing his best to keep the Old Lady of Turin ahead in the title race. Surely this is not the season, where their vice like grip on the Scudetto is prised away.

Kai Havertz – Leverkusen, FC Ranking: 99

Havertz makes it into the '99 club' for the first time this campaign after his recent form for Leverkusen. After a stutter in performances midway through the campaign, he picked up after the turn of the year, and in his last four games has scored five goals as he looks to haul Leverkusen to the Champions League.

Thiago Alcantara – Bayern Munich, FC Ranking: 99

The second of our Bayern trio when it comes to perfection, Thiago Alcantara is not necessarily a player who will grab the headlines but he is certainly someone who makes the German giants tick. They have been doing fine without him since the Bundesliga started back with him out with injury, but they will still welcome him back with open arms.

Josip Ilicic – Atalanta, FC Ranking: 99

He may not be anything in the way of a true household name, but the 32-year-old seems to be experiencing something of an ‘Indian Summer’ as far as his career concerned. In his last game for Atalanta, he scored no less than four goals as the Italian side defeated Valencia 4-3 away in the Champions League.

Toni Kroos – Real Madrid, FC Ranking: 98

With Kroos possessing a 98 FC ranking, he is perhaps labelled as the ‘best of the rest’ although that is not to diminish his talents by any stretch. With a pass completion rate of 94%, he is pretty much untouchable when it comes to the accuracy of his balls to team-mates.
